t1000 part throttle

Post by steveohlhaber »

I have a 2012 mustang v6 automatic. Using the trinity, I don't see anything that allows part throttle increases in the automatic shift points. I thought raising the shift rpm would do something, but that must only affect WOT. I know because I cranked it up to 20mph and in normal driving there is no difference. Is this a bug or is this by design? Before I bought this box, I asked tech if this would work and they said it would. I don't care about anything related to WOT or horsepower. I just want to get this transmission to shift at higher rpms. THey didn't offer a sport mode or any + - type shifter controls that year. I am constantly pulling the shifter through the gears. Is this possible with the trinity?

Yes it can do what you're asking. What version is on your tool? Go to options -> show information and tell me what it says. Also if you could post your last tune written from the tool that would be helpful as well.

To answer your question yes, the tool is capable of it and we'll get it resolved for you.

That's the original backup. I need the last tune written please. When the selection comes up there will be two options there.

Here you go I raised them for you. There will be an update to address this as the modifier is not doing the entire range only the half throttle section. There is also some trans stuff in there.

To load, do you mean the second file is the OEM version or the first tune I sent?

Also, what do you mean you raised them up?

After driving this tune, I can see that when I change the MPH for the shift points, it doesn't change. Its fixed at whatever you must have raised them to. For example, the 1-2 shift happens at a minimum of 3300rpm. Is the next version going to be adjustable and when will that be available? I don't want to be fixed with a set of shift points that I cant adjust.

Heres the tester. Return vehicle to stock and then hit update tool on dsdownloader and select the attached crom.

After a run with this, I dont notice it responding to any different shifts. I returned the vehicle to stock, updated the tool with the crom, then installed the tune for the 2012 ford mustang 3.7L automatic, but I dont notice any change over stock. Am I supposed to load the last tune you sent with that version of the tool?

You have to readjust them with the tool. Now the tool will adjust the whole throttle range instead of just the upper portion.

It doesn't. I can adjust it to all 20mph over and there is no change from stock. I actually don't want to change the top rpm at all. If I go 20 mph over on 1st, god knows what my shift rpm will be. That update brought me back to totally stock shifting though.

Yes the update will do that. Are you programming after you make these adjustments? I tested this specifically with your calid in your car to make sure this is working properly.
