DTC P0128 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 low temp thermostat

Hi Mike,

I installed a Mishimoto 180 low temp thermostat, Mopar coolant + 1 bottle Lucas Super Coolant, and am getting DTC P0128.
I logged data while driving and the code only trips when the engine temp gets below 170 while driving. (It is 78 degrees today and engine is 173-176 degrees driving; up to 196 degrees idling.)

I see that you are able to fix the P0128 issue, if I send you my last tune can you fix for me?
We have sub-zero temps in winter, what is the lowest temp you adjust to so P0128 doesn't trip?

Also, it would be great if you enable thermostat adjust in the inTune: I realize that may take away custom tuning shops, but a low temp thermostat is such a great weekend project (generally less than $75 bucks for all parts and fluids and only an hour wrench time) that I would appreciate being able to modify with inTune on the fly.

Thank you,
David

Awesome, thank you very much.

Do you mind if I ask how you fix on your end:
Do you adjust the temperature that trips the code?
Or do you make the tune ignore the parameter all together?

this thread is in reference to an issue with Chrysler vehicles, never been an issue on any GM I see....

My apologies I though I started a new thread.
Thank you for following up. Will let you know if I get a temp error with the new low temp thermostat on the GM.

Hi Mike,

My 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 is stalling while driving in cold weather.

You helped with t-stat fix on a tune but in trouble shooting the stalling I had to uninstall the aftermarket throttle body and put back stock.

Two questions:
1. Are there other temperature sensors or parts that have to reach a certain temperature car that will shut down engine?
2. With the new throttle bottle, if I re-submit the tune can you re-post with a lower t-stat over ride? (trying to trouble shoot before taking to dealer and thought that since the old tune w/ the t-stat fix was on the old throttle body a brand new tune w/ t-stat fix may fix overall-- also i logged data and got car to shut off while parked if you're interested.)

Many thanks,
David
