Maually saving OEM PCM before doing anything?????

I just got a used over the weekend and thought diablo was similar to Superchips and SCT with backing up the PCM before doing any modifications to the computer. I started the process to load the tune after making sure I had all the updates necessary. Well I received a TCM error during the process and now my PCM is wiped. My truck is dead and it is sitting there. I have contacted support....

My reason for this is to try to avoid this for other people, because crap like this sucks and luckily I have three vehicles and I am not at a total loss, but my truck is dead until I can pay to have the PCM reflashed :(. So I am really feel for the people that have gone through this and it is their main vehicle.

My main question is there a way that a factory file can be manually saved before Diablo does anything with the PCM?

Ok. Is there anyway to do a manual save just to be on the safe side?

I tried researching this but could not find anything on it. Are you able to do a manual forced backup of the PCM before doing anything to the truck? I know you said it automatically does it but what if it fails to do it properly like in my case when it tried updating the calibration on the truck.
