Background: just stroked my 5.7 to a 392 with a custom cam/tune. I was trying to modify the tcm portion and when I started to install it gave me an error and wanted to install original backup..now it just loops with no option to reset the tuner itself. Luckily the tune in truck is the custom tune so it's still driveable. But what do I do about the U7137? Even when I plug it to laptop it still wants to restore backup...any suggestions?

well maybe not..watchin the fuel trims and it's runnin pig rich which trys to dump fuel at idle or when coming to a stop.. need to get this fixed so i can push custom tune back in.

Call Tech Support in the AM. They can help better on the phone.

try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes then reconnect and try the restore again please.

will give that a try... I found that if I hold the esc button down I am able to toggle to the point where my laptop connects to tuner and push the custom tune onto it. Also, with it plugged into truck and holding esc button down I can toggle to push the pcm tune back onto truck (resets my clock) but doesn't upload tcm tune (diablo tcm canned). Will pull gnd cable of battery to see if it resets tcm portion (I pulled fuse 23 to reset pcm)... I'll update later. Although truck seems to be running fine, I'll drive a different car to work today to be safe.

didnt work. attached battery cable, went to install original backup file with the same result. I was able to install the custom tune to pcm but it fails when trying to do tcm. Error is the tcm 154 error. Truck will start and idle fine.

will the tool show the PCM and TCM calids?

Weird, looking into that 154 error.

I tried to return it back to stock the conventional way as well with the same result.. and just in case it tried to push the stock pcm tune back in, I went ahead and pushed the custom tune back in, it will push the pcm tune in, reset the clock and then error trying to do tcm.. she's driveable, still rich at part throttle but I'm still on the 1st tune after the base tune..

my tuner sent me an updated pcm tune that I was able to upload to tuner and truck successfully, same issue when it tries tcm. Truck runs good and fortunately the existing tcm tune works ok. My tuner would like to start tcm tuning when this issue is resolved.

Im not sure whats causing this, so figuring out how to get around it is tough.

I might suggest that we reset the tool and try to force a cal update to the truck to set the pcm/tcm back to stock then start from scratch.

we can try..please let me know how to proceed.
