Need some help please. trinity

I just purchased a trinity and plugged it into my PC. I automatically began updating everything under the sun as far as tunes go. On the Options\show setings page I have the following:

Part: dcx_gas
Ver: 1r12a
Bootloader ver: 0.0
Hardware: Trinity
Saved Calid: "blank"
Saved vin: "blank"

When I plug it into my truck, it loads up, gives me the user agreements etc. then asks me to turn the ignition on. I do this, it waits 5 secs, and states can't communicate to unit #1. Every retry results in the same thing. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, got it to work. I had to plug it back into my PC and have it check/compare the download it just completed with the file online. Not sure why. From there, while plugged into the PC, i changed the make and model to my truck along with the year. This time when I plugged it into my truck it liked life and decided to work. I loaded the Diablew tune into the truck and I am running 93 octane. A quick trip for an iced tea and I definitely could feel a much firmer shift between 1st and 2nd. Pick up seemed pretty good too, but it's hard to tell with seat of pants. I'm heading out for a road trip of ~1000 miles tomorrow. Will datalogging while on the highway be a good thing to do? My goal is to get my truck set up for the best fuel economy possible for highway trips since I do quite a bit of that for my job, but also have decent acceleration stop light to stop light when needed. Kind of extreme ends of the spectrum for tuning I know.....

Have folks seen the best fuel economy when actually running the economy tune? My experience with past vehicles and some handheld tuners is that the highest tune as well as 89-91 octane yielded the best mpg results on long trips.

Any help would be appreciated. Oh, I have a 2007 Yukon 2wd SLT w/5.3 flex.

best mileage results depend alot on the driver, best bet is to try a few different tunes to see which works best for you, but i would agree, that especially around town, the 93 tune with good 93 octane will yield the best results as it provides the most low end torque while needing less throttle input to make the power.

Ok, quick question in regards to the trinity. I was running the 93 tune and 87 tune respectively this weekend. When loading the 93 tune, I left everything else stock. I then changed over to the 87 tune to check it out and decided to see what the options were at my disposal. I turned off the DoD and that actually helped with fuel economy. I also noticed torque management adjustments inside for options. First, I thought/assumed that the torque mgmt was preset with each canned tune? Second, i adjusted the 1-2 torque to the left(counterclockwise) as it seems like that is lowering the forced torque restriction by the computers. Is this correct, and how far have folks moved this setting while still staying "safe" as far as what these transmissions can handle.
