Handheld runs, program closes....

plugged in my intune to update, intune program on computer closes once the 'preparing' screen comes up on the tuner itself.
no notifications on computer or handheld, and tuner has been 'preparing' for 30+ minutes now.
is this common?

that means its all doing exactly as it should, update runs, puts updates on the tool, then the drives close to import the updates
