Help would be appreciated, please!

I have a '13 Charger R/T with Magnaflow exhaust and the canned 91 Octane Tune.

So far I have disabled MDS, upped throttle boost 20%, increased the rev limiter to 6000 rpms, and changed the transmission shifts to firm on the canned 91 Octane Tune.

Here is where I need help.

Tonight I will be installing an LMI Hammer CAI. I already know that there is not currently a 91 Octane CAI Tune for the '11+ Hemi's.

Here is my question ... is there any other changes that I need to make in order to take full advantage of the CAI? I've read where some have increased the fuel by 5% at WOT across all rpm ranges to take advantage of the increased air flow.

I would like to get the most performance out of my mods as possible, but DON'T want to cause any engine or transmission damage in the process as this is my daily driver.

Any advice/suggestions/tips would be sincerely appreciated ... as I plan on installing the LMI Hammer tonight.

adding 5% fuel should be the most you'd need to do.

Thanks for the confirmation Mike, I appreciate it.

I installed the LMI Hammer last night and while I was at it, I changed the WOT Fuel parameter to 5% for all 3 of the RPM ranges.

The car runs pretty strong now and is for sure much more responsive. I noticed a stronger pull up top while at WOT, especially at highway speeds. I also noticed that between the changes I've made with the 91 Octane Tune and the LMI Hammer that it doesn't take much at all to break the tires loose.

When it is time for new tires, I plan to keep the stock 245/45/20 size up front but change the rear tires to 275/40/20's. They should be about 1.2" wider from what I've seen. Looking for that tougher, meatier look.

One more thing on this that I noticed today ...

When adjusting the WOT Fuel setting on my tune, when looking at the Intune DCX screen it says "Rich" on the left side of the screen and "Lean" on the right side of the screen. When you take it to the right (Lean) side of the screen it is a positive number (1.0, 1.5, 2.0, etc.) and when you take it to the left (Rich) side of the screen it is a negative number (-1.0, -1.5, -2.0, etc.). So here is my question:

I added the LMI Hammer CAI so I was looking to ADD 5% fuel at WOT. This, I assume, was to compensate for the added air from the LMI Hammer CAI. More air coming in I'm assuming would cause the engine to run a little more lean if anything. So my guess is that I was ADDING 5% fuel to the mix (which would make the air/fuel ratio more RICH).

But I'm confused, because when I increase the number to POSITIVE 5% (which I assume means to ADD 5% more fuel) ... it goes to the right side of the screen where it says "Lean". Does this mean that I'm backwards and I'm making the air/fuel ratio more lean? If I take it to the left side of the screen where it says "Rich", if it means I'm making it more rich the number is then -5.0%. Does this mean that I'm subtracting 5% fuel at WOT?

Basically, I just need to know for sure which adjustment to make in order to ADD the 5% more fuel at WOT in order to compensate for the LMI Hammer CAI.

So what you are saying is that I need to adjust toward the rich (left) side, which will have a number of -5.0% showing after the CAI is installed?

correct.

you are commanding a richer AFR (say, from 12.5:1, to 12:1), hence, you need to reduce the value to go richer

Well crap, I've been running it backwards. I've been running it at +5.0%, which was toward the right (lean) side. Hopefully it didn't mess anything up since I've been running it that way all week. I will change it to the rich side tonight, which will be -5.0%.

After doing that, I will data log it again. Once I do that, do you mind taking a quick look at the figures to make sure all looks good, Mike?
