Custome Tunes

Post by 08SuperBeeNJ »

I have a 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8 with a BBK CAI, 180* Thermostat and a Trinity Tuner. I just bought a set of Kooks LT Headers and am looking to purchase a BBK 85mm Throttle Body within the next month. I was wondering how I make the custom tune with my Trinity Tuner to make sure the computer knows what modifications I have done. Right now I am running the canned 93 CAI Tune. Any help would be great.

you'll need a cmr tune to properly dial that in, check out www.hemifevertuning.com for a good email tuning option.

And save your money on the TB. It won't do anything. The 6.1 doesn't need more air than the stock TB flows.

Mikel, I have been reading a lot about the Trinity on your website to educate myself on the applications when it comes on Monday. For the timing it says I can add from 0-2000, 2000-4000, 4000 -7000, same with adding fuel so of course I will set them to the same values per rmps. The thing is the stock setting for my 2012 Ram r/t are 5800 rev limiter, shifts at 5600 rpms. Would it benefit me to ingrease those values as the Hemi taps out on power at 5600 rpms. Would increasing these just be overkill with no benefit? Would I be able to get a custom tune to have the timing and fuel tables set to the stack vaules as the truck seems to like those tables the most, thanks.

timing and fuel should only be adjusted for good reason, based on logs.
rev limits are up to you entirely.

I don't have the option od changing the rev limiter, it is set at 6200 rpm when I install the tune, I feel it is to high as the factory rev was 5800 rpm with 5600 rpm shift points. When I install the 93 tune, I adjust the fans as I have 180 stat, upshift revs I have played with but have just leave them alone now, shift points are left alone at 5600 rpm, throttle control at 20 percent, I have had the traction control on and off, mds on and off, wot fuel set at 5k-7k, have tried it with 5 percent lean and also set to 0, wot spark is also set to 5k-7k with 3-5 degrees advance, is now set back to 0 setting. I have just been trying to figure out the right mix to get the truck running like I know it can. I talked to a couple shops and they told me that the AFR, Timing, and Fuel curves are what's going to give me the power, finding the right mix is the key, help.
