2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee
5.7 Hemi
New to the Trinity T1000
I just got the Trinity yesterday and uploaded 1r13 after installing all drivers and such on my computer. It states that the version IS 1r13, and I selected my Jeep in the vehicle section.

I backed up my original stock tune and installed the 93 performance tune. It stated my vehicle was ready to drive, that the performance 93 tune was installed.

I started the Jeep, it showed idle at around 1300-1400, and steadily was dropping. The drop slowed down around 800 rpm's and it sputtered. It dropped down a bit more and stalled.

Repeat the statement above about 10 more times. It would sputter and stall about every 30 to 45 seconds. I took it down my driveway and out onto the highway. It did the same thing, I just had to go to neutral to restart it. It would clunk and motor would bang on start up, the transmission would shift and bang, and it felt totally retarded(NO POWER) ultimately resulting in it going into Limp Mode (4th gear). I barely made it back home, living in the mountains and 4th gear don't mix well. I finally make it home, and checked the trouble codes. There was a trouble code dealing with the TCM. Forgive me for not writing the number down, but I didn't. I cleared the code, and reinstalled the back up factory tune. It did it with no issues.

I reinstalled the 93 tune again and it stated, Error, -18 reflash pcm locked.....or something to that nature.
I unplugged the Trinity, and waited for about 30 seconds. I plugged it back in, selected my vehicle, and successfully installed the 93 tune again. It stated that the Performance 93 was in, and the vehicle was able to be driven. The same exact thing happened. I tried this several times, including installing the 91 tune.

I uninstalled everything on my computer, resinstalled all the drivers, usb stuff and did it all again.......it doesn't work. It lets me successfully install the tunes but the Jeep doesn't run.

Please help me get this sorted out. I'm frustrated that a $600 piece of equipment doesn't work at all. :?

Thanks

There was a code on one of the installs but I didn't write it down. It was a TCM code I believe. It wont stay running long enough to get one now. It also automatically puts it in auto stick mode.

I figured I'd post an update.

The update is that I'm still waiting. I emailed them my last tune written and haven't heard anything since( Tuesday, September 2, 2014). Every time I call or email, they still don't know anything yet. :crashing:

The car in question is 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi engine. I believe I have a similar problem as to the one described in the opening post. What happened to me is as follows: I was at the dealer and restored my original backup. Thereafter when I tried to re-marry the trinity it said it needs a calibration update. I followed the instructions and downloaded the latest CROM - v.1r13.

When I re-married the trinity my PCM letters changed from "AE" to "AH". I installed a tune from Diablo, the Trinity said you may drive the vehicle now. The car starts and in no time it simply dies out. Thus I believe the problem is with the newest CROM file. I also tried to get help from Sean of Hemifever, because when trying to upload his original tunes (ending with AE), the trinity will not permit it.

Sean sent me new tunes ending with AH, but I cannot upload them to the trinity - it says: the CRC of your original backup filedoes not match that of the tune file. And I am sure that I am using the backup file which I have sent to Sean.

When should we expect a fix to the CROM file?

I had the same issue. I figured I would update my trinity and when I reinstalled my custom hemifever tune the air suspension. Malfunction light came on then the jeep stalled. The canned tune didn't work either. I sent my last Weirton tune to diablo and have not received any answers yet. Obviously there is a problem with the 2012 hemis free you load the update and yes my PCM letter changed at the end. That indicates that you have the update. I want my tunes back. Come on diablo please help us out.

my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 is back in the shop for the same problem, but mine also delete my original backup somehow and kept the first tune as the original. Jeep reflashed my pcm, took six times to take and now have my trinity unit while working with DS on a fix. I tried numerous times after downloading the new update only to have it continue to stall, set off all the warning lights and then shut down the car totally. had to wait five min to get it to restart. fix should be coming soon. I am going to put the 93 tune on Jeep but after reading a few posts talking about knocks with it I am now unsure. I feel the need for power. ha

just an update, after waiting almost two weeks my jeep dealer tells me that DS gave them a new program, then called the next day and said not to use it. Dealer was told that DS is aware of problem and is working to correct it for the 2012 GC 5.7.. I don't know about the rest of you but I don't have $600 to just throw away on a product that is sitting at the dealer two weeks after I purchased it and not knowing when the problem will be corrected. Never had this problem with my Hypertech unit. so I sit a wait for a fix to come from on high. seems with all the problems reported it should be a high priority fix.

by 2014 Challenger R/T
I am using version 1r13a on my 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T 5.7 and when trying to revert back to my stock tune for a dealer visit/oil change/warranty work,
It hangs up at” turn key off”. On the second attempt it did the same thing but now the stock tune is gone from the Trinity. I did remove the pushbutton and use the FOB for a key as instructed in the forum. “always use the key” . The Trinity remained on the “ turn key off ” screen and the key would not do anything, no change at off, acc, or run, no response from the car at all. I just waited a while and then unplugged the Trinity. The key started working again in a minute after unplugging the Trinity.
I also had a check engine light and lots of codes…. I used the Trinity to clear all codes.
Have other people had this problem? Is this thing safe to use, I don't want to brick my PCM on a car with 2,500 miles on it.
Are there known issues with this release???

This is NOT odd. It happens all the time with DiabloSport. I had a similar issue on my 2012 JKU with the 1r11 release. Although I will say that the DiabloSport support staff worked with me to get it resolved. My advice is not to upgrade unless you REALLY have to do it.

I did the update prior to reinstalling and got the same message, so simply "following the prompts to the download" is not gonna work!
