More MPG for my Ford Ranger

I have a 1999 Ford Ranger 4.0 auto 2wd like to know if any other persons have the same vehicle and the route You went to increase your MPG thanks

I had a 2000 4x4 3.0 and my way honestly was to sell it and get a full size. true story went up to 03 ram 1500 hemi and got 18average from the 12 in the ranger

Thats because the motors Ford used in the Ranger were like antiquated boat anchors. They were designed in the 80's when power numbers were low and so was economy. Going to a newer motor, even in a bigger truck, is a guaranteed winner.
