Searching for serial port

Running win 7 on the laptop. Plugged the Itune cable into the car and let it bootup to the main screen. Then plugged the usb cable into the usb port on the laptop with dataviewer 3.3 open. I get one screen listing all of the preditor units that it is compatable with. I closed that screen and the dataviewer is open and showing that it is searching for a serial port. I have updated the itune twice today and removed and reinstalled dataviewer. Now it wants me to reregister the Itune. It has been registered months ago. I am running the program as admin and the Itune driver has been installed. There is another driver that failed to install. I can only see it with the Itune hooked up to the PC and I am away from the shop right now.
How can I get dataviewer to look for the usb port?

does the driver show as installed in the device manager?

It looks like the driver for Qualcomm Gobi 2000 is not installed. Working on that right now. Not sure what that is for.

Why the window at program startup showing fully supported Diablosport Tools: Trinity- All Versions and a list of about 26 Predator Tools on start up? No Itune listed as a supported tool.

Itune seems to have the most recent updates although it now wants me to register the unit again at each PC - PC startup.
I'm sure that it has alrady been registered. 1r04d app and 1r02d GM version. serial #C1BQ8F9-1
