ok quick question. i just got a trinity couple days ago and updated it and everything before i touched my car with it. i hooked it up and got my backup of my stock tune done and uploaded the diablo tune into my car. runs great. if I want to go in and change some of the adjustable perameters to the diablo tune do i need to restore my car to the backed up factory tune and then flash the (modified) diablo tune? or can i just go in and modify the tune and flash it over the unmodified diablo tune?
also i am having a issue with my factory car alarm when i leave my trinity plugged into my car. sometimes when i get out and try to lock my car i have to press the button a few times to get it to lock. and unlocking happns everytime. i have to press it atleast 6 times to get my car to unlock. when the car unlocks the sound of the locks opening seems sluggish as if my battary is dead and it barely has the juice to unlock the doors. but the car cranks fine. doesn't matter how long i leave the car 5 mins or over night it acts the same way. if i unplug the trinity it locks and unlocks with no issue. thinking about returning the trinity cause i cant be dealing with not being able to get into my car and don't want to deal with having to unplug and plug in everytime i get in the car. I thought about buying another connection cable and splicing the power wire inside and adding a switch so i can turn it off and on.... but that seems like alot of hastle for it

Re: modifying tunes
no you do not have to restore the backup first.. just select the diablo tune again, then select to Modify Tune.. make your changes you want, and install the tune...
and sounds like your battery is draining.. you either need to set the timeout setting to the max 60 seconds, or unplug it from the obd port.
if you do not do either of those things, it will kill your battery if you leave it connected all the time (unless you set that timeout to 60 secs.)

Re: modifying tunes
My timer is set to 60. And it isn't killing my battery yet. If I tune my key of and try to lock my door with my remote it is acting like I have a dead battery in my remote. I have to press it like 7 to 10 times. Same with unlocking even if it is only like 10 minutes from when I got out of the car.
Same scenario if before I get out of the car I unplug the trinity my car locks and unlocks just fine.
Also I noticed that when my trinity is asleep and I turn my car on my trinity doesn't turn back on with my car. I have driven out of my neighborhood and down the street before it kicks on. If I I touch a button with engine running I see a Windows saying halt monitoring til engine start. Or something of that nature.

Re: modifying tunes
Ok did some testing seems that if I unplug the trinity and plug it back in before I get out I can lock and unlock my car just fine. Seems that the longer it is plug in the worse it gets as far as trying to lock or unlock my car. Inside the car the lights are fine, radio, headlights and cranks just fine. Like stated before I can try and lock the car and nothing but then unplug the trinity and works just fine.
Kind of feels like in computer terms it is like when some is ddosing ur computer more that comes the slower ur computer runs. But I don't know how the computer works in a car so not sure if the trinity is still sending or receiving or trying to log / monitor in the background when is suppose to be sleeping.

Re: modifying tunes
yep.. sounds like the same interference some others have had with garage door openers and the trinity as well.. the trinity causes interference... the fix is to not keep the trinity plugged in...

Re: modifying tunes
Talked to the guys I got it from at phastek performance and they got ahold of Mark from Diablo sport and he got one problem fixed and then told me to try and move my trinity. Said it was probably to close to the receiver for my alarm.
I had the trinity placed near the center of my windshield, just above the dash. I have now moved the trinity to the bottom left edge of the windshield. Now my alarm works somewhat lol. I have to be standing like right beside my drivers I've door lol. Gonna try the top left tomorrow and see if that helps any.
I hope I can get this thing worked out cause me unplugging it everytime I get in and out of the car is way to pointless. Eventually it will either wear out the port on my car or the trinity itself. Last thing I want to deal with is a lose connect trying to upload a tune and something get messed up or shorted out.
