Warranty Void ??

Post by Skwarczynski »

OK, this has probably been asked a million time. I am considering a Trinity T1000 programmer for my 14 Silverado but am worried about warranty problems. I have searched many forums and the consensus seems to be that the dealership can tell if you have made changes to the vehicle (ie: flashed), and is able to void your power train warranty. I have read on this site that the dealer cannot tell if changes were made (ie: vehicle set back to stock prior to work), and that the tuner will not void a warranty. Does anybody know the actual "truth" and risks involved when going to a programmer? Help appreciated...thanks!

yes it has been, and it's been beaten to death.. LOL

as long as you remember to restore the original backup stock tune to the vehicle first, before going to a dealer for anything, you will be fine... no issues.. the dealer can not tell anything...

And even if they can tell, they can't do anything unless the tune directly causes a problem. We have laws against that. Thats why even though my car hasn't been built yet, and will be a lease, I already bought a piggyback and other stuff for it and don't have a single worry about the warranty or any sort of repercussions. The law is on our side.

It's called the Magnusson Moss warranty act.
