I would like to know if anyone has tried the 87 performance tune, interested to hear feedback comparing this to the other performance tunes.

I have a 2015 Explorer Sport and have the 87 Octane tune installed.

This tune is excellent. I say this because the performance and economy gains are very noticeable.

There are a lot of Livernois fanbois but I chose Diablosport.

I have installed a K&N cold air intake and I am about to install a magnaflow exhaust. I am running the 87 Octane tune. Do you have any recommendations for changes I should make to the tune?

The CAI wont require any changes, I'll check onthe cat back...it shouldn't require anything either, but I have heard of these vehicles picking up decent power from adding a catback so we'll see.

2014 Explorer Sport K&N CAI, 170 stat, MC SP534 plugs...I have tied my best 0-60 time with this tune and the high octane performance tune..just a fluke I guess

I have a 2014 sport with CAI, LMS/corsa catback, and also the 2.5" downpipes with high flow cats. Will be installing the 87 tune. Any recommended changes to the tune with the above setup? Thanks.

The cat back wont require any tune changes.

I ran into one problem with the 87 Octane tune yesterday.

I was driving in the rain and I punched it and my CEL lit up and I started misfiring and lost power.

I pulled over and reinstalled the factory tune. I then made it home without any further problems.

I did a search on these forums earlier and I found out that another guy had the exact same problems. I was wondering what is causing this tune to fail in the rain?

I have the Mileage Booster installed on my 2015 Ford Explorer Sport. Previously, I had the 87 Octane tune and ran into an issue in the rain.

Anyhow, a few weeks after removing the 87 octane tune and installing the Mileage Booster tune I ran into the exact same problem. It was pouring down rain in Southern Oklahoma and I had to pass a truck. I punched it and my dashboard lit up with CEL warnings and I went limp.

I pulled over and shut off the vehicle and then restarted it. It started normally.

Note to self: Do NOT PUNCH it when it is raining while using diablosport tunes.

another note: My vehicle is up to date with ALL technical service bulletins and recall notices so stop telling me that the problem is with an intercooler tsb.

It is though. That is the actual issue here. It's well documented all over the internet. The tune doesn't make it magically mess up only when it's raining.

The dealer won't even do it unless your complaint is specifically with that.

How do you recommend I address it so that the dealer will investigate?

I know I will have to put my stock tune back on but how do I tell them I went into limp mode and have them perform this tsb? I ran my VIN and supposedly all recalls/ tsbs have been installed/ completed/ fixed.

Any tips on going about this would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I have the K & N Cold Air intake. Do you think that may also be the problem with the moisture being sucked in?

What I would do is just tell them the same symptoms you're having now. Just put the stock tune back in before taking it to them.

The intake could be part of it although I don't know for sure as I haven't seen one on that car in person.
