DST1000 - By FAR the worst tuner I ever purchased

Some background information on myself. I am a master certified auto tech, computer software programmer C#/C++, and web developer. I am not new to custom tuning or hi performance applications. For the same price as a DST, I have HP Tuners for my ls2 powered third gen camaro and I love the features, how free it is to use, the functionality that comes with it...you can literally do anything.
I purchased a DST brand new from an authorized retailer because most of the known NSRT4 tuners use diablosport products and although HPT unlocked the PCM it isn't completely finished or known to the majority of tuners yet on this platform.
So ok, fine I dropped the $600~ for the unit and first time I went to use it the interface DOES NOT respond to finger touches in the cold temperature. The unit was warm because I just brought it outside from the retailer and plugged it into the car. (Every ... single .... time it's cold outside) How annoying
Getting past the initial quirks, my first experience trying to datalog didn't go so well. The interface is rather confusing. Sometimes it asked me to enter a log name, sometimes it doesn't. Once I entered the log name "1", and started recording, the screen went black after a few minutes then my recording wouldn't save. Said something about being corrupted or unable to save.
I tried adjusting the timeout of the screen to hopefully fix it, it seemed to work.
Went home, then plugged it into my PC, downloaded all of the software and not to my surprise even that is buggy. I went to register the product through the program and it gave me problems, said there was an error registering the product. Had to re-do it a few times to get it registered.
OK. So now it starts to update. It downloads and transfers all of these diesel tunes, etc which takes about an hour.
Now that everything is updated, I don't seem to have any issues datalogging, yey!
I tried extracting a log through the "DS Downloader / Trinity Browser" tab, and it says "LOLOL NOT SUPPORTED YET"
Are you @#$#$^%&^%$ kidding me? It seems DS didn't put really any development time into making this completely user friendly.
Giving it a day or so just to get over being a little irritated by this unit, I tried to use the Performance Tune option in the upper left corner. I wanted to modify my boost level to see if it worked or if I had any substantial leaks. Well guess what? That wont work either!
It goes to "save the original backup" and it says "Original Backup NOT SAVED (-14)", when I hit the "More info" button it says "PCM: error reading page (1)". So I can't do a damn thing with this tuner right now. HPTuners communicates with my car, and even downloaded the PCM file onto my laptop, NO PROBLEMS. I try the "gold standard" flagship product DS sells and I have nothing but inconveniences, glitchy functionality, non-functionality, and even a laggy interface.
Not to mention even the housing feels cheap on these, you would think a little rubber case to protect it wouldn't be such an expensive part at the 600$ price range.
To top it all off, DS is not answering their phone today. I stayed on hold for over 20minutes with no answer. If they were closed, you would think their phone system wouldn't be on, but no sit on hold for endless time with wishful thinking you are going to get help with the product you just purchased!
My god what a horrendous experience...
