U7140/ can't find the right tune for CAI plus error codes

Post by charp94896 »

2006 Ford Mustang GT
U7140

I have finally decided after a long time of struggle with my car to come to the place where my answer may lay. I have been struggling with engine trouble codes thrown:
P0148= fuel delivery error
P0171/P0174= system too lean bank 1/2
P1000= OBD System Readiness not complete
P2195= O2 sensor signal (this may be caused from the cats not being in place)

I have a Predator tuner that is on the original tune as of yesterday, coming from a modified stock tune. I will be cruising along on my 63 mile one way commute on the interstate when I will get a slight area of rough running and flutter for a 5-10 second period then it returns back to normal. Keep in mind my cruise is typically set around 75-80MPH. But I notice that 3/4 throttle it runs strong, but as soon as I go WOT, it starts bogging down and acts like I do not have the right air/fuel ratio (as if its too much gas or too much air dumping in past 3/4 throttle).

My guess of problem is:
I think maybe this whole thing is just an air/fuel issue
The CAI on a stock tune causing mixture ratio issues
The leak in the passenger side exhaust manifold (ordered replacement)

I am a stock tune and I am running 87 octane fuel. I have a cold air intake, a leak on the passenger side (bank 1) exhaust manifold (don't know if that effects anything), I also have no cats and magnaflow exhaust.

As far as the type of cold air intake, I wish I knew which one it was, I will post a picture to see anyone knows which kind I have (bought the car used).

PLEASE HELP!

IMO you have an O2 sensor issue

I have fixed everything except WOT blips... All it took was to change the tune, this leads me to believe that I don't have anything other than a tuning issue. I have a Volant 72mm air intake. In which I use 87 octane gas.

---- I never knew the type but finally figured that out today.

Which one of the O2 and what do you do to clean/change? Is it an easy fix?

These are the settings in this tune. I did a data log and saw that my short and long terms don't seem right from what I was reading in how to tune. I was getting aroun . 8778 on trims.

At wide open I notice spark advance is down to 1-5 then slowly climbs the rpm band. To about 24. I think the tune really is the issue. I just threw a code again for 3rd cylinder misfire. I replaced the cop and plug. Still getting this Code. And the misfire. Think the timing and ratio of fuel is causing misfire?

Car runs better not at WOT. Car runs right if the load isn't heavy and have normal or light acceleration.

Seems like under heady acceleration I get a huge drop in spark advance degrees and this bad timing could be causing the random misfire. Opinions, suggestions, HELP PLEASE

well, what happens when you put the stock tune back in the car?
Do all the issues go away?
If not, its not the tune....

The air intake requires a tune, and unfortunately I don't have the stock air intake. I do have a 2nd gear pull from a datalog and also have a not so good tune.

Any tips, advise are appreciated. I am trying to get it to stop blipping, and hesitating. I know there is knowledge that someone can enlighten me on.

Thanks,

Cole
