RE: Those having issues with Ford diesel tools
Cal ID is VXCF5H5, Serial 2000693, Part U7165pcm_6_0, 100HP tune.
4-6 mpg drop in fuel mileage, strong diesel odor at idle (not there with stock tune), not as much power and fun as it used to be. Truck has a 4" MBRP exhaust, cat removed, AFE Pro-Guard7 cold air intake system and Accufab elbow. I have thought about going back to r17 and dealing with the low FI code but did not know if it was possible... I would like to have the performance back and if it breaks I'll fix it one way or another.

calid vxap2n2 Truck surges or flutters at 15lbs of boost and up. low end and up to 15 lbs truck feels fine. The truck also runs fine with original tune.
I have tried the r19 and 2 different custom tunes. the only mod to the truck is a turbo back 4" exhaust
u7165 03-6.0 f250
thanks,
Brian

RE: Those having issues with Ford diesel tools
After a quick initial review of some of the files, I do see some issues.
Won't take too long to resolve them. I'm going to work to get you some things you currently don't have now.
I'll keep a progress report so you can follow what we are doing.

2003 6.0 VXAP2n2 u7165 lastest rev
Have the surge at 60hp and 100hp. Not sure about the boost psi but the surge shows up at about 2500rpm's. The 100hp is down very low on power and will not even spin tires. Both the tunes sugred on the last rev and the newest one and even four custom tunes. Been waiting for a fix back before May.

Let me try to understand this. For 6-7 months now we have been asking for a fix and now after 4 posts you tell us that you see the issue's and and it won't take long to resolve them. So why did it take 8 months to tell us this ?
RE: 2003 6.0 VXAP2n2 u7165 lastest rev
They seem to be only worried about the new 2008 and us old guys are just that....old news!

2000 6speed manual 4x4.......7170 128k.....very bad throttle surge or "flat spot" in the go pedal......60,85,100 tunes all drive thris way ....40 hp tune is the only one that is linear but it doesn't have much nut......truck actually has more acceleration at 1/4 throttle than at 1/2 or 3/4.......not linear at all an very noticeable to all who ride or drive........fuel mileage is good and smoke is minimal ( unlike that 8r01)

Because it was just brought to my attention just last week.iwantmorepower wrote:Let me try to understand this. It escalated to the point where I was notified of it, so I did some research into what the issue was. Looked at a few files and saw some problems.
If you don't think we are serious about the 7.3/6.0, we removed the main person responsible for the tuning on the U7165. He is no longer with the company.

Re: RE: 2003 6.0 VXAP2n2 u7165 lastest rev
The 6.4 is important, you are correct about that. But the 7.3/6.0 are our 'bread and butter' tools. I personally drive a 7.3 and know quite a few people with 6.0's. The need to work as advertised, so that is what is going to happen.jsavelli wrote:They seem to be only worried about the new 2008 and us old guys are just that....old news!
We've only owned the company for 8 months and there is alot of work to turn around previous practices

Thankyou for responding, I wish you luck in the getting things turned around. I have been a customer for sometime a will wait to see what happens shortly. thx
