I installed the Performance tune for 91 octane with Airaid (no firm shift/automatic) with latest update r.38 about 3 weeks ago. When I first started driving it, all was well (note I have driven it about 4 times since). Last time a started it up, it starting making a hissing noise. When driving it now it seems underpowered, and stalls a little when stopping(rpm drops to about 4,500, then boune back up to about 6000-7000) very annoying when you applying the brakes...
The only other mod are flowmasters… I ran diagnostics to see if I had any error codes. To my surprise there wasn't any... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like maybe a small leak somewhere in the CAI??

I double checked all clamps and hoses before posting... Car runs fine with no tune (factory settings), and airaid insert in.
RE: O5 Mustang GT with Airaid 450-172 tune with on insert
The insert needs to be removed when installing the AirRaid tune.

It was removed... the tiltle of my post is (O5 Mustang GT with Airaid 450-172 tune with on insert ) I put it back in so I could drive it with factory settings again. If this best support I can get, I may as well return it... I was look for something I could try, using a different tune, run some diag, or some other suggestions.christina wrote:The insert needs to be removed when installing the AirRaid tune.

If the car ran fine for a bit then all of a sudden acted up it sounds as if there is something up with the car, as the tune is not going to change over time. The hissing noise sounds as if it may be unwanted air from another source. Try removing the insert again, make sure there are no leaks or cracks anywhere and reinstall the AirRaid tune. Check the throttle body as well. If it makes the hissing noise again, see if you can pinpoint where it is coming from, that would help troubleshoot.

Sorry for the confusion…
Throttle Body is new factory replacement... I think it has something to do with the MAF sensor/computer on these new GT myself... It takes time for the computer to learn the new air/fuel ratio when running the predator tune or any other tune/cai that effects the mixture. Every time you flash it or restore from backup (factory settings) and etc has to learn how to walk again... Sometimes changes the air/fuel ratio works at first, then over time the computer detect the increase air/fuel ratio as a problem and start over/under compensating to debug it’s self, causing it stall, decrease in performance and etc. I am going to let it run for a few weeks with just the Airraid Kit (insert in) with factory settings… I will let you know how it goes. If no problems come up, I will try the tune once more without the insert. Do you think your MAF kit can trick the computer to run right over time with the tune? If not, I am probably at a loss...

We have quite a few people running the Airaid tune with the insert removed with no reported issues.
That tune is based on actually flowing the entire MAF/CAI assembly on our flowbench and creating a proprietary MAF curve so the tune should be perfect.
Thanks

Thanks go out to Phil Jones for steering me in the right direction with my tune. I removed the venturi insert from my Airaid and put the Airaid 91 performance tune in. It's running perfectly! I may even tweak the shift points and firmness this weekend!
Since this is my daily driver and I spend most of my commute on the freeway, I'm also happy to report an increase in mileage which will easily pay for the more expensive 91 octane fuel and keep me and the wife smiling!

was reading your post and had a thought on subject. when you installed the airaid c.a.i. did you use the screws supplied with kit to install the m.a.f? if you used the factory screws from oem intake (they are longer) you may have cracked the housing.or if you tightened them too much it may have damaged the m.a.f. good luck. i have same set up with no problems at all.
