TPMS with Diablo tune relearn

Post by Whiterock1 »

I am getting new wheels for my '13 Corvette. The car has the 91 octane tune, firm tranny tune, fans % reset. Can the TPMS sensors be reset with the Intune loaded? Someone on Corvette Forum mentioned he had to return the tune to stock, as the loaded tune would not allow relearn for the TPMS sensors with new wheels. The OEM sensors will be put on the new wheels, and they (Firestone Dealer) have the tool to synch them. But should I return the stock tune first?

Also, when I take the Vette in for the low beam headlight wire replacement, will the Dealer do anything flash-wise, so I should have the stock tune reloaded? Again, someone on the forum mentioned his car was reflashed. It doesn't seem logical a fix to the headlamp issue would have anything to do with the ECM, but I want to make sure.

Finally...if I return the car to stock tunes, ECM/TCM, when I reload the Diablo tunes, I would also have to modify the fan settings? It seems logical, but just want to make sure.

Thanx!

should always restore the original backup stock tune to the car first before going to a dealer for anything.. they may check for and can update your ecm due to GM recalls, updates, etc... they don't have to ask you first, heh...

so yes, restore the original backup stock tune to the vehicle first.

Makes sense, Lew. Still wondering about the relearn TPMS with the tune, though. May just put stock tune back, get the wheels mounted and have the "customer satisfaction" low beam fix done at the dealer the next day or 2, and then reinstall. That's assuming no snow in the forecast for 2-3 days!

yeah, I'm not sure about the relearn thing.. I wouldn't think you would have to, because all they do is put a magnet around the sensor to have it reset... but you never know..

I would restore just to be safe and not have to worry about it..
