Car has been fine since I got it then I installed the tune and a day after the check engine came on. I did a check today to see what it was and I got codes P0171 and code P0174 I checked the camaro forums and it seems this is either because a poor tune or a MAF sensor issue. I'm leaning towards the tune but I will be checking to see if it is the MAF as well.
Looked and CAI is moved slightly so there is a small gap between that and the air filter part of it. Will move it back on later with tools and clear the codes and see if they come back.

Re: Tune causing Check engine?
the gap in the CAI is the issue, a tune that causes those codes has real issues, and ours will not cause those codes on any stock vehicle, but they are not uncommon on cars with a CAI that has a small leak

Re: Tune causing Check engine?
the tunes do not change fueling settings, so it's not the tune causing it to be lean, heh..

Re: Tune causing Check engine?
Yeah my cold air intake was moved off the air filer and i am 99 percent sure that is the issue. But yea I will be changing it later with my dad who knows more about mechanical stuff and hopefully that helps. Should I clear the codes with the tuner to fix it when I change the air intake or will it fix it.06MonteSS wrote:the tunes do not change fueling settings, so it's not the tune causing it to be lean, heh..

Re: Tune causing Check engine?
Delete thread if you can. Cai was really lose and was half off. Code seems to have gone away and the engine isn't acting funky anymore. Thanks for help

Re: Tune causing Check engine?
Thread is important. Too much air past the MAF will cause the lean codes bank 1 and 2 you got. I had the same problem with my Halltech Superbee when it let too much air into the filter, not bypassing the MAF. If your car has the Hitachi MAF like my '13 Corvette, it is super sensitive, and the Halltech moves it forward making it even more so. Blocked off the excessive air coming from opening in the shroud and the problem went away. Now have the shroud open just a bit so will get cool air in, but not excessive. Leaning an engine, as the Intune and Halltech both do, up to a point is great. But you can't go over that point.
