finally got my ltft's dialed in and now i'm working on the timing. First i wanted to know how much kr is harmful. highest i've seen mine jump is like a .34. what if it's 2.xx or 3.xx, is that to much. Also, if my 02's should read 890-910 at wot, what should i do if there not? I don't have the afr feature on my predator.

Since this is the fifth day and no replies I'll give my answer. Of course .34 of timing is tiny but you are still losing some performance due to the way the pcm compensates and obviously no knock is what you want. These engines are notorious for piston slap and I have to think that metallic rattle has to impact the sensors in the knock range but have no hard proof. Better gas might help or a little less timing is worth the experiment. My engine picks up small levels of knock - as much as 3 degrees randomly. It's hard to pinpoint as it does it so infrequently.

As for the narrow band O2 voltage range - eh, you can try tweaking the PE but adjusting by NB numbers is really not the way to tune, especially at open throttle. If you can afford a wideband outfit like the Innovate LM-1, you will be adjusting with the correct tools. Having said these things and moving your thread to the top, the moderator and/or Lew might give you an authoritative answer and I'll be able to watch your thread as it is pertinent to me too.

Yeah, you dont want to see any KR at WOT.
If there is KR, try a different brand of fuel (Amoco, Sunoco, Mobil) first, then adjust timing if necessary.
As for the WOT A/F....a wideband or a trip to the dyno is the best bet for dialing that in.

Thanks

once I got my part throttle fuel trims dialed in, I just leave my WOT/PE fueling alone - at 0 - I didn't adjust it at all... and that gives me an AFR at WOT of about 12.6 to 12.8...

Because you asked the 2nd question you should think of this first; you need to research the whole wideband topic so you don't buy something you'll regret. A/F wideband kits are no longer terribly expensive but you will be spending enough that you don't want to make a mistake on the wrong thing. As funky as it may sound, I almost always look on ebay to see what exists. You can search on air/fuel wideband and see a variety of products. Once you know what's out there and who makes the stuff you can google the internet where you will see forum topics and a raft of sellers. Each one will add to the knowledge base you want before you decide and spend. Also, logging is very important. The U7198 doesn't do this so you can think on and research that too.

That is my personal advice for learning and shopping and the process that led me to the Innovate LM-1 / LMA-2 kit, EFILive scan tool that I now have as well as the u7198 predator in my signature.
