I spent $400 for a paperweight?!?!?!

Post by biggmann »

I purchased a intune to program my Dodge Ram and worked great and did everything I was supposed to do I had no reason to bother looking into this any further. I recently traded my Dodge in and got a Brand new Ford and decided to play around and program it too and that's when I found out the ridiculous truth, my intune is a paperweight now because I didn't know you had to have the original truck in order to reset it and in order the get it done now is going to cost me something like $160. I paid over $400 for it and now to use it a second time I have to pay more money? If I had known that I wouldn't have purchased it in the first place, when I pay that much money for something I expect a level of customer service along with it not being held hostage like this. To say im not impressed is an understatement!

At least they allow you to reset it. If you had put headers on the Dodge, would you be able to use them on the Ford? Nope. Same thing here except it can work on your new truck if its reset. You paid to mod 1 vehicle. If you traded in with the tune on the vehicle, that 1 vehicle is already modded. If you want to mod another one, you gotta pay more. If they did free resets then every vehicle on the road would be tuned and they'd be making no money for work they did.

Headers and a tuner are two totally different thing. headers are made specifically for each vehicle this is an electronic device that can be reset. You can put in a stereo and use a adapter to fit and take the stereo out and get a new adapter to fit the new truck. This tuner will work on another vehicle and can be reset by what I understand Diablo sending instructions and a code but they want to charge you for it!!!!! I can plug my iphone into my computer and reset it pretty easy I don't see why i need to pay $160 to get a email. And no where did I read on the website when I was researching this programmer that it said you can use it on one vehicle it only says one at a time nothing about holding it for ransom to get it reset.

Maybe you and the other dude crying about his tuner should swap tuners.

I dont see how YOUR choices are Diablo's problem. You bought the tuner and the vehicles. Its clealry noted that Chrysler has its very own tuner, hence the different model number

Can you reprogram your Windows pc to run Appple software? How about a cellphone. ..... you cant use your ATT Samsung S5 with Verizon. Same phone but, its programmed for that specific carrier. You cant reprogram the phone. Same with the tuners.

You just answered your own problem. ONE AT A TIME. Right now, your original truck is tuned. Thats the one. If you want to use it on your current vehicle, that would be two. Remove the tune from the original vehicle, the tuner will unlock. But as long as that tune is on there, if you want it unlocked, you gotta pay for it. Its really very simple.

Why don't you contact the person that bought your truck so you can retrieve the program?

Wait! You had a inTune 1000-DCX and you want to use it on a Ford now? And you are upset that you can't? That's like buying an app in the Apple Store, then getting mad because you bought an Android phone and can't run it on that phone! They may look alike on the outside, but the DCX is an entirely different piece of hardware internally - it will NEVER talk to anything but Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep.

You "married" your DCX tuner to your Dodge truck, used it for a while, then you sold your truck? With the tune still on it? So the other guy got a free $400 tune from you, and is *still* using the intellectual property of DiabloSport? And you want to bitch about customer service because DiabloSport won't give you a completely new inTune 1000 so it can work on your Ford? LOL!

If you know the person that bought the truck, maybe you can ask if you can "unload" the tune, or sell him the still married DCX and use that money for a straight inTune that works on Fords. If you don't know who bought it, well then you are S.O.L. and get no sympathy.

Hey - I bought a DiabloSport Predator (previous generation of the inTune DCX for 05-10 Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep Hemi engines) for my 2007 Chrysler 300c and used it for 5 years. Then I bought a 2012 Chrysler 300c and guess what - I had to buy a new tuner for it! Even though I restored the old Hemi to the stock load. The new car required DIFFERENT electronics than the old Predator had. So I paid another $400 and got the inTune DCX, and am completely happy with the transaction. I recently purchased a new 2015 Dodge R/T ScatPack - they don't have tunes for it yet, but I "unmarried" it from the 2012 300c and put the stock tune back into the 300c so I WILL be able to use the SAME DCX when they get the tunes for the 392. Key there is UNMARRYING the device from the car before selling it, and staying within the same "family brand" of vehicles.

So if I buy a married intune for cheap, could I pay to get it reset as well?

It is common knowledge that you must return a vehicle back to stock before being able to tune any other vehicle. It is no fault of Diablo Sport, it's YOUR fault. What ever happened to personal responsibility? Trying to pass the blame onto DS is wrong. YOU F'ed up so YOU need to pony up the cash to unlock your inTune and/or purchase the proper inTune for your current vehicle. It clearly states on the DS website which tuners will work on specific vehicles. Stop crying and trying to blame others for YOUR mistake. :punisher:
