t1000 no shift point adjustment 06 dodge ram

Post by trea954 »

Hello all who read and comment,
I have an 06 dodge ram 1500 5.7 qc 2wd, for some reason I am not being offered the option to adjust shift points. I might just need a lil insight on the matter so bear with me. First got the truck did tuner, CAI, true dual exhaust. I remember being able to adjust shift points then. I later installed a crane 216 cam,6.1l rods and springs, aps tc, blackmagic extreme efan, mds delete, 1080t stat,4.56 rear gears, couple other things. Now that being said the guys at AMP had Johan write a tune for me so I could run the truck, now im not 100 percent but I could swear I was able to play with the shift points I could be wrong. I found this lack of option out when I updated my t1000, while reinstalling the tune noticed that option and possibly more than 1 missing. Called diablo cs spoke with Garrett about who advised me to load an earlier version of the software, did that still no option. Now I could be doing something outta order idk? Also with the diablo tunes or the quick adjust no shift point adjustment options. Being that I need the custom tune from diablotoona to run the truck is that something that would need a custom trans tune, but back to the option of having a tuner that can adjust shift points is a must, just don't know where it went.
Thanks,
Rich

What crom version is your trinity on? If you still have TCM tuning then you are lucky. My 06 lost trans tuning completely after updating to 1r11 I believe. But before I had the option to adjust the shift points and shift scheduling but the adjustments I chose to be put into the tune would not apply after the tune was written to the truck. Also I seem to remember the numbers were all wacked out and did not even make since. I have a few post on here about it. I honestly have lost count on how long this issue has been going on. Maybe 2 years or more. And since then many other 05-06 ram guys have developed this issue also. But nothing has been done to fix this issue. They say they are working on it... So if you still have the option to save your TCM original backup and tune the trans then do not update!!! You will need trans tuning with all that engine work. Even though you may not be able to adjust anything the CMR tuner can(that's if you still are able to save the TCM original backup and tune te trans). Line pressure, reduced torque management, and shift points are all needed adjustments for this trans to take advantage of that power.

Good luck
