New Filter, LTFTs went richer?

Installed a new replacement filter for my 2013 5.3L truck. I had about 20k on the stock original, and even though it said I could go longer according to the manual, I thought I'd put in a new one as part of my last dialing in the tune before moving on to WOT. The new one is a Fram Extra Guard, replacing the stock AC Delco. The Delco didn't look too bad of shape for the miles.
I expected being a new filter, that if the LTFTs were going to change, it would have been leaner due to better airflow. But running @ 2k in 5th gear (62mph), as I do on my normal logs, it's showing about -2% from where it was with the old filter. Does this mean the new filter is more restrictive, than the used factory one was? The ambient temps were same as previous runs, and I didn't do a reflash between filter changes.

+ OR - 5% is within GM specs, I doubt that the cleaner would be a concern, just make sure your air box sealed
correctly.

OK, ALL I have ever ran for air filters in my trucks and cars (including wifes subaru ) are spectre and k&n .... stock air filters are restrictive and expensive on maint costs . They both cost the same as oem , but you buy them once ( spectre or k&n ) and get 50,000 miles from them and wash out with provided cleaner , re-oil and bamm 50,000 more miles ..I save $120.00 the first year and $160.00 there after ... oh and better breathing and small performance gain/miliage.

if trims went richer, usually indicates less airflow, if all other operating parameters were the same (fuel, weather, intake air temp, etc)

oh , BTL ...I FORGOT , I do own 08 gmc sierra with 6.0 ltr and Banks ram jet cai , great tone , not like k&n cia ...get great air flow, def perf gains , ill see how my new high flow cats and BORLA cat=back will work with it this sat ...getting dyno before change and dyno after THEN install trinity and of course dyno after program.

That's what I thought, which is why I was confused. Guess I'll either go with the a factory filter replacement, or K&N filter next time, instead of a Fram.
Thanks for confirming.

Didn't realize Banks did one for the gas trucks. When you say great tone, how is it different than the K&N CAI? I'm not really interested in louder, but a deeper tone would be nice.

BTL, Banks makes a CIA for my 08 6.0 z71,4x4 , vortecmax and unlike k&n you get a true tone not a true overpowering drone and has the best air flow and perf rating which has yet to flood my meters... Ive reasearched so many bolt ons for the new motors starting in late 07 AND believe me MADE ALOT OF MISTAKES , listening to unproven, unknowledgable, how much you have in your wallet salesman. I have a great friend that has probably taught me the best but worse lesson ive had to deal with. ( ive spent 10months of research on all products for this era)..IM an old school hotrodder and the last thing i wouldve expected was this new gen of computer,AFM, exhaust and programming era...With the new motors like the 4.8,5.3,and 6.0 they are A. Exhaust sensitive - cat backs are dyno with stock Y , change that system and better go Long tube , high flow cats and dual in/outs , ( no happy med) B. Add only muffler (buy a perf with the greatest restriction ) or loose bottom end or back pressure , its that simple . C. CIA dont care my Banks out does all others ratings and best tone , not drone . I have the LS1 all aluminum engine and must run 91 octane.
BTL because of a local exhaust shop, his lack of knowledge on the new gen GM motors , Sat im replaceing all my new exhaust ( he recommended and installed ) with a new Y pipe (he cut ) BORLA cat-back (single in dual out ) and trinity Diablo. WOW BTL READ, READ ,READ thats how i try to in the future be better prepared . Now alot of peoople with early new gen and present have differ opinoins , borlas proven , banks a few know have crossed over to gas (CIA,Prorammers etc) I find ill upset others but k$n,air-raid, voliant just are names with little facts but advertising ....So before you bolt on for performance look , read and look again..I PLAN REAL DIFF STAGES FOR MY 08 .....pro-charger ? cam change ? roller- rockers ? but for now simple but proven products and let the others try the rest
