3.3.0.09 through 3.3.0.16 Crashing

Post by duster360 »

Ever since 3.3.09 came out and all the way through 3.3.0.16, more often than not, it crashes when opening a new log.

On 3 different PCs running Windows 7 and now 10, if I already have a log open and then try to open another, Dataview locks up.
The lock up occurs nearly every time if I say YES if I want to save changes to the current log before opening the new one.

Any ideas?

I've been using 3.3.0.8 for years now with no issue whatsoever. With every new version, I think the issue maybe fixed but to no avail.

try uninstalling Dataviewer, then run a disk clean in the program files to wipe any temporary files that may be stored. reboot then try reinstalling the latest version. http://www.diablosport.com/CMR/software ... 3.0.17.exe

Same issue. The initial log will open 100% of the time but if a new a log is then selected to open, DV can crash. It is more likely to crash if you answer YES to save the current log.

It also seems to be more likely to occur with InTune logs if that's even noteworthy.

Again, 3.3.0.8 has never had this issue but every DV since 3.3.0.9 has.

I dont have any further input, but man, I have never seen this reported by anyone else...could it be something on your PC?

The 3.3.0.11-latest have been so much more stable than past versions, it just seems like opposite day with your PC.

Have you had a chance to try one on another PC by chance?

I would like to think so but the issue occurs consistently on 3 different pcs, one at work and two different laptops at home.

I thought the new CMR laptop I got a few months ago would have the best chance since it was clean. IIRC version 12 was out at the time but nope, it'd still crashed when saving the current log and lock up in the middle of trying to open a new log.

Several customers have reported the same issue. So I keep a copy of 3.3.0.08 on my Google drive to hand out when needed. Again, for whatever reason .08 has never had an issue.

Again, it seems less likely to occur if i don't let DV save the current Log before opening the new Log.

Could the mechanism the remembers what PIDs were checked off while the log was open, be the source of the crash?

I use it everyday on two different PCs and periodically on a 3rd. Here you go, it took me just a half dozen saves & open for 3.3.0.17 to crash just like all the others version sans .08.

It's hard to believe I'm the only one.

Do me a favor, and cycle between these logs and see if it locks up. Check off a different PID each time and select YES when asked to save it.

It seems to be consistently crashing while saving/opening either of the "Lean 1025cc BWS3" logs.
