I am looking at getting the intune for my grand prix gxp in the next couple weeks and just had a couple questions. Sorry if any seem obvious; im new to tuners.
1) Does adjusting the fan help keep transmission Temps lower or just the engine?
2) Does setting the shifts to hard or firm wear the transsmission faster or make it run any hotter? Thanks everyone!

hey there
the lower fan settings will more than likely help the trans temp as wel being as the trans cooler is inside the radiator. so if you drop coolant temp. it should lower trans as well. within reason of course.
as for trans shitting. no it is not bad for the trans at all. in fact it is actually better for it as there is less slippage in between shift so less clutch material used and lower operating temps.

Awesome! Thank you so much for your reply. Will hopefully be ordering an intune in the next few weeks. Do you have any recommendations on a good fan setting to help keep this sucker cooled down? Also when I get the intune do I have to do an update or are they ready to go? sorry about all the questions. Thanks again.

will need to update it.. who knows how long it's been sitting on a suppliers shelf.. (diablosport doesn't sell direct, they come from suppliers, like me

- only have 4 left in stock)
fan power is already adjusted in the preset tunes and are fine..
can have things changed and improved even more with a custom tune for it.. which I can certainly hook you up with..
I sell the inTune and I also offer a package deal that includes my custom tuning at a discount so you'd save some $$.
You can find info about it, as well as links to my Package Deals, Testimonials, Pricing, purchasing/ordering, etc. on my site here:
http://www.diablewtune.com/package_deals.html
With the custom tune, you'll gain even better/quicker throttle response & acceleration, stronger/harder pull, smoother & quicker power delivery throughout the rpm's, better tranny performance/shifting (for automatics), etc...
I change a lot of things... a small sample of just SOME of the things are: disable the DOD/AFM (if applicable), disable torque management, adjust part-throttle fueling/timing, WOT fueling/timing, knock retard settings, throttle settings, tranny torque, tranny torque management, tranny shifting settings (for automatics - pressure/firmness, shift points, quickness), etc...

If i ordered your intune package does it come updated and everything already? The site instructions are for a mac and i do not have one. Also does it effect the tunes benefits if i add a custom exhaust and an intake later on or should i get those mods first? Thanks!

no... you'd need to update it yourself when you get it.. it ships directly from my supplier, I don't see or touch the tool at all..
There would be no custom tunes preloaded on it, just the preset canned diablosport tunes that come on it... the custom tune can not come preloaded on it.. tunes are locked/tied to a vehicle's VIN number and engine calibration ID's... so the custom tune has to be created from copies of the tune files that get saved from YOUR vehicle... plus, you can't import the custom tune to the tool unless the tool has the copy of your original backup stock tune saved in itself first anyway. Plus, I never see or touch the programmer - I don't stock them here at my house, heh.. they get shipped directly from my supplier.
so you'd need to get the programmer first.. register it and get it all updated to all of the latest updates - then you'd need to install one of the preset tunes to the vehicle - and when it installs the tune, the programmer would save copies of the "original backup" and "last tune written" tune files in itself...
then you'd export the copies of those tune files from the tool to your PC's harddrive, and then email them to me...
I have to create the custom tune from copies of the tune files from your vehicle...
the auto-updater works on a Windows PC/laptop.. if you have a mac, you'd need to do the updates manually...
tune can be updated later for those mods.. I give 1 year of free tune updates...
