This Should Not Be...

Post by DaleHeller »

Okay...

5.3L Ext Cab, 2005, with Z85 Suspension, and 3.23 gears, running 275x55x20" shoes...Volant RAM, Magnaflows...

Just now installed the performance tune, and something strange happens, when I get on it, the rear wheels start spinning - both of them!!! This has never happened :P I didn't think it COULD happen with this size rubber on it and these grandpa gears. This is an unnatural act. Now, I'm sure to have to buy rear tires and not once, did I see a disclaimer on this web site.

The top end is awesome, but now I have to go reglue my trim around the windows - its flopping around at ~110 to ~125 MPH and can't listen to the Magnaflows sing that "...good ole song..."...

Seriously, top end seems to hicup a bit when you get off the throttle at 120 mph and start to slow down, not a jerk, but something seems to give an "...umpffh..." sound. Ideas?

Anybody debating this upgrade - STOP, ORDER IT, and Enjoy...

I'm outta here, going for a joy ride....

it has a lot to do with 3.23 gearing. tires will spin further with a higher carrier <3.23>
lower gearing <3.73, 4.10> will still spin, but spin for less distance.

just wait till you take some of that TM off, that was the first thing i did.....took off TM and put on the 93 tune....i spun about 75 feet with my 285/50-20's , but i have a fairly large stall converter...

glad you are enjoying it though.

and about the top end......i think all trucks make funny noises at 125 mph!! they werent meant to go that fast.
