we are now available to turn DoD off but I dont understand what that is going to help.. what are you going to gain by turning off DoD? someone please explain what the advantage would be. I guess its good that we have the option of turning it off or leaving it on but I dont understand what the gain would be.

There have been claims that some have gotten better mileage with it turned off. Also, if you put a performance exhaust on your vehicle, it won't sound like bad while in V4 mode. I know this is a big feature for the guys on chevytruckworld.com They don't like how their exhaust sounds in V4 mode.

Maybe theres more to it, but thats what I know.
Good luck
Steven

yeah, my mileage went up after disabling it... went from 18 to 20.5 mpg....

plus being in V8 mode all the time now, the flowmaster super 40's sound bad-ass all the time ;)

Lew, is that highway mpg or mixed average?

either way that is pretty good from a 5.3! :P

that's mixed... about 50/50 city/highway...

during the week, my 1 hour commute to work is half highway, and half city/town roads, stop-n-go.. . and on weekends, if I go anywhere, it's all around-town driving...

Hey Lew, ever notice if your cruise control works?

hey guys... yeah, cruise control works perfectly fine, I use it every day... and I'm using the Diablo Tune No DOD...

what revision is your predator on?

I'm on 8r06... there have been no updates that pertain to my car since then, so I have had no need or reason to update it.

everything works perfect - cruise control, traction control, etc etc... no problems whatsoever.

maybe it's a bug that got introduced in later/newer revisions???

I can tell you from experience that turning off the DoD aka Active Fuel Management was the BEST thing that ever happened for my truck. 2007 NBS Chevy Silverado w/ 6.0 Vortec Max. My truck ran like crap with DoD activated...it surged and was very noticeable going in and out of 4 to 8 cylinders. I hated the way the truck ran! I used the 93 octane tune and disabled the DoD and now my truck runs GREAT! Better gas mileage too....about 1-2 mpg better, but I am using premium now...was a good trade off! I do also have a magnaflow exhaust and that sounds alot better now too, but my main problem was the DoD. The DoD also would shift all the time and that sucked ..back and forth, back and forth...horrible driving when it was active!
