stuck on acquiring vehicle information

hey, just purchased a trinity tuner and when trying to connect my laptop to in tuner it gets stuck on acquiring vehicle information. any ideas on how to get this working? I am running windows 10 and have both the tuner and data viewer updated to the latest versions

if you are connecting the tool to your laptop and then open the dataviewer, and are NOT connected to the vehicle, then yes, that message will show up on dataviewer.. the tool is not stuck.. you either can download a saved log from the trinity to your pc at that point, or you need to connect to the car and then dataviewer will be able to read the vehicle's ecm and list the available parameters.
or, you can just record a data log with the trinity by itself.. you don't have to use a laptop and dataviewer in the vehicle to record a log.
