170 Fan Settings

Post by jferraino »

Hello,

just joined and purchased the predator for my 07 R/T. I've searched the forum for any suggested fan settings for my 170 tstat, but I've only seen stock or 180 tstat fan settings. I'll be getting the tuner tomorrow and will like to just be prepared ahead of time. Can anyone suggest fan settings for a 170 tstat. I live here in So FLA so I'm not concerned about the cooler temperatures throwing cels. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thx

I do n ot think it really matters what temp. you set it at here in fla. I just left the settings as diablo had them and have had no problems. On another matter when you program your 07 are you planning on turning off your auto upshift? and if so could you let me know if it works . Mine worked last week but went back to stock today and i can't change it. I was just wondering if its the nature of the beast or if I screwed something up.

I'll give it a whirl as soon as I receive it. Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, leave the fan settings as they are, they'll work fine with the 170 stat.

Thanks

Yes, the stock fan settings will work but if you do not lower the fan settings, your engine will reach the higher stock temperatures when the car is moving slowly and you will not have the benefit of the 170 thermostat. Correct me if I am wrong, but the full colder thermostat mod always included the fan mod to get the maximum advantage.

Currently, the fan temps are already set lower in the tunes, so they will work fine with a cooler t-stat.

Thanks Mike for the enlightenment. I didn't realize that the lower fan settings were incorporated into the tunes. I guess if you were using the stock tune with a 170 thermostat, you would want to lower the fan temperatures, otherwise, it is all taken care of by the tune.
