2015/16 Hellcat PCM

Post by phantomworks73 »

There has been a lot of discussion occurring about the mileage requirement when ordering a PCM. Can you guys help me/us (as I will post your response in the hellcat forum). Why is the mileage requred when ordering a PCM?

the pcm syncs with other modules and shakes hands at the start, and the mileage ideally should be close between modules at that point.

If anyone is concerned about it, send in your stock one to be modified, or...dont tune your car!

I don't think anyone is concerned? Just curious? I will post your response on Hellcat.org. Seems kinda crazy you work for a company that tunes cars and would even suggest to not tune your car?

Well, no, not crazy at all. I have dealt with quite a few threads like this that turn into people making it sound as if we're doing this to get people in trouble, etc. In reality, it comes down to whether you want to tune the car or not, and what you are willing to do to accomplish this.
Its very unfortunate that this is the only currently available means of tuning the 15+ models, but its the best solution available at this time.

While we are here to sell tuners, tuning is not for everyone, and I'm not here to push something on someone that they dont want or need ;)

I could not however, imagine owning and driving a Hellcat, without tuning it :)

I can understand and can appreciate your thoughts with that clarity. Although I don't think your here to get anyone in trouble and I cannot imagine owning any car without tuning it! Me and my friends have been using your products for years and look forward to continue to use them. When I went to order the PCM and it asked for mileage I couldn't for the life of me figure out why? So I posted the question over at HELLCAT and it was just a bunch of speculation so thought we would get it from the horses mouth.
Thanks!

If we put your PCM in our car at 1k miles and get it tuned and then at 15k miles we pull yours and put the stock back In for a visit to the dealer "let's say for warranty work" what mileage will be showing in the cluster? 1k or 15k?
