New i2, Confused, Very Very Confused...

Post by obajoba »

Just purchased a PCM and i2 for my Jeep. Prior to installing the PCM I wanted to make sure the i2 is good to go so I:
- Connect the i2 to my Mac
- Fight with Java to get the updater to work
- Got the updater to run, it installs some stuff and then reboots
- Opening the updater will do the same thing every time (copy the file and update and reboot)

Nothing appears to have changed, I don't see a license file or any tunes in the 'Tunes' folder.

Is it good to go? Am I missing something? Do I need to install the PCM and connect the i2 to it?

It appears I have worked this out. :normal:

1. If you have a Mac, carve out 2 hours to get Java running and the i2 to work "correctly" for the update.
1a. Ignore the status of the i2 after it has updated and rebooted, there is nothing more to do here
2. Install the PCM, turn the key to run, turn it off, start car, stop car
3. Connect the i2 to the Jeep
4. Install a tune from the i2 (I actually canceled after the backup because that is all my tuner needed was a copy of the original backup file)
5. Now I think I will install and remove a tune prior to starting supercharger installation (don't want to be stuck with a dead car)
