Intune i2030 Review 2015 Sierra

Post by Closer_2001 »

Vehicle: 2015 Sierra SLE 5.3/6a/3.42 2WD
Miles: 22k
Mods: Bone stock, except for Elite Catch Can

Experience with Diablo: Awesome on 2015 Explorer Sport

Experience with Tuning - Have been tuning LSx with HPT as a Hobby since 2003

I pulled the factory file on my Sierra with HPT only to find it looks completely different than most LSx including the most complex I messed with to date, 2009 CTS-V

Since I've liked the Diablo Tune in my 2015 Explorer Sport (TT Ecoboost), gave it a try.

Filled empty tank with 23 gal of Sunoco 93

Loaded 93 Easy Tune with Firm Shift. Everything worked as advertised (did update on programmer with Mac prior).

Initial impressions:

Hold gears longer to be less flat-footed in regular traffic 40-50 mph
Shifts seemed stock until driving 10-15 miles, then adapt seems to be learning to give a nice solid, but not slipping or harsh shift.
Under WOT, much more alive and pulls a few hundred RPM further.
Very good mid-range torque - like 40% pedal from 1500-3000 RPM from 30-55 MPH.

Overall I'm impressed - it was exactly what I wanted to clean up my daily driver.

I also got a GREAT deal from Maryland Speed!! 8) :D
