2011 f150 pulling timing.

2011 f150 pulling timing.
I just recently bought the intune 2 and installed the 91 octane tune. I was not pulling the power that I thought it should so i decided to data log it. It is pulling timing like crazy and the knock sensor is going crazy. It is doing it through 2 different tanks of fuel, both 91 octane. I also got some octane boost and put that in today, but it hasn't made a difference yet. I even went into the tune and changed fuel tables and added 1% then 2% into wot. I did that thinking that it may be running a little lean. That didn't help either. I also have a question as to why the values are reading in metric and I cant change it. I also have no clue how to read the o2 sensor values as they are completely weird numbers, as well as the catalyst temps and a couple others. Also, the boost value is in kpa but does not in any way represent actual boost. Once i have converted it, one tells me boost upwards of 29 pounds and the other tells me boost is only getting to 4 pounds. Neither one of those can be right, right? Please help me out here as i would like to see the claimed power coming from it and also would like to see it running correctly and healthy.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: 2011 f150 pulling timing.
first question, have you upgraded your plugs and closed up the gap a bit?
Thats a common issue on the early trucks.
if you do have the new plugs post the logs and tunes please.

Re: 2011 f150 pulling timing.
BTW, boost shows MAP + Baro, so 14.7 atmospheric, + 14psi boost + 29 psi

Re: 2011 f150 pulling timing.
I did the new plugs as i was seeing some bad misfires. the stock plugs looked great but they were gapped at 040! so I replaced them and gapped at 030. Misfire went away. by posting tunes, do you mean you want the actual file on the programmer? Or do you just want to know what tune for the logs? I have a couple cruising tunes and a couple that are full throttle runs. Of those full throttle runs, there are 3rd gear pulls and pulls through the gears starting at whatever it downshifted to.
I have also noticed that the timing curve seems to be backwards. It shows twenty to thirty some of timing at cruise but at full throttle it goes to single digits timing. There is also a spike or two once I am full throttle, except, its not a spike, its a drop! It actually shows negative values on some of them. Maybe I'm interpreting it wrong.
Log 44030-4 the full throttle run begins at about 3:40 and immediately there is 2 timing "drops" and the knock sensor pulls 6 full degrees!
Also, I put the octane boost in later in the logs.... so anything after say, _07 will have the octane boost.
Aaaand another question, haha. I am seeing some crazy minute fluctuations in the boost. I also hear a whistling at times when full throttle. Could my wastegates be weak and opening the smallest amount upon seeing the full boost?
I will add a few logs for you to read over. They will all be with the 91 octane tune. Thanks a lot for your help and timely response! Anthony.

I also noticed it is running really rich on full throttle so I am going to go ahead and take the 2% of fuel back out of it and maybe even got to the lean side a touch.... try to get it to 12.5/13:1 for full throttle runs. That would still be in the "safe" area... ya?
Re: 2011 f150 pulling timing.
This is a log from this morning. Things look much better, except one area on a rolling full throttle run, where it pulled 7.5*+ of timing.
I went in and pulled the fuel out that I added the other day and went the opposite way, leaned it out by 1%.
I also assume the octane boost is more thoroughly mixed today.
I feel I need to take out more fuel, I live at 5000'+ elevation. It's still sitting around 12:1... I'd like to see it in the 13's. I'd also like to hear you chime in on that before I go any further than 2%.
Included is the tune and log. Thanks again!

Don't take out any fuel. It's running where it should be for the catalyst to not melt.roy72004 wrote:??

Are y'all gonna help me or not? If I can't get support, why have your product? I ran the truck at the track and on the dyno, horrible numbers. I'm looking at only 15hp over stock numbers... Running the 91 octane tune! Something is definitely going wrong. Please help me with this.

can we see the dyno sheets?
Did you log it on the dyno?

Re: 2011 f150 pulling timing.
I'll have to get you a pic of the dyno sheet tonight. Also I can get the time slip from the track. I completely spaced logging it on the dyno. I was helping run/sponsor the event, I was pretty crazy busy. I can say every log I've looked at has had timing pulled. From 5° all the way up to 12°.
Re: 2011 f150 pulling timing.
I cannot find the dyno sheet. I do have a time slip, ran at Yellowstone drag strip outside Billings, Mt. The dyno graph had good smooth upward travel till about 3800, and both torque and hp flattened out and was very jagged jumping up and down. This is a mustang dyno. The guy has ran over 3000 vehicles on that very dyno. Numbers were 321/374... +/- a couple. I'm on the right, with 15.4.

Re: 2011 f150 pulling timing.
the way you describe the dyno chart sounds as if it was knocking pretty bad and pulling timing, thus killing power.

Re: 2011 f150 pulling timing.
I'll do a pull tomorrow sometime with it and send it to you. Something is going on then, because it has done it ever since I've installed the tune. (I never days logged it stock) I will actually do that tomorrow too. One stock, one 91 octane. I don't know why it would knock, I even used octane boost at the strip, and always use top tier gasoline from Cenex or shell. Will the data logs tell you why it's knocking? Or at least give you a clue?
