inTune cannot update...

So I just purchased this intune from a friend of mine that wrecked his car. Unmarried. Went to install the basic tune and said "failed to read PCM origianl backup, error Code = 0xFFFFFFFF" decided to go ahead and try just updating the tuner and it now says cannot update until registered. The latest updated file was from march 2015. Help?! And is this suppose to have a 91 or 93 basic tune? Only has a choice for 91.

Any info would be gratefully appreciated

added update: went to the intune updater for recalibration and says to keep unplugging and trying again

which intune is it? i-1000, i-1000-DCX, or i2010 ??

needs to be an intune i-1000-DCX or i2010 for that car..
