Predator U7193 with V2.10 FW PC Connection

Hi all,

So I bought a 2004 Sierra 1500 2wd w/ 5.3L and 4Spd Auto. Lo and behold, I find a U7193 Predator under the seat. Unfortunatly the guy who sold it has since passed away, so I'm not exactly able to ask him anything about it.

It's my understanding the Predator is now at EOL, so there is no official support for it anymore, couple that with the fact that is has the old V2.10 FW (BTW, how old is V2.10?), I can't seem to update it to something newer. I'm okay with that for now, but I want to know if there is any way I can get RS232 comms working on it. With the latest DSdownloader it doesn't seem to be able to connect. I know that at one point in time it must have been able to communicate with a PC, otherwise it wouldn't have an RS232 port. So is there an older version of the software I could get that will work with it? I'm mainly just interested in downloading the tunes that are already on it and seeing what they are.

Also, I'm well aware that I could send it in and for $100 get it upgraded to some 9rxx FW, but I'm not interested in that since I know a lot of features got taken out. So I'd prefer to just mess around with what I've got for right now, rather then spend the money on that.

it's very ollld.. one of the originals.. you can not update it.. no internet download updatability, no data logging, etc.. you can not use dsdownloader or dataviewer apps with it.. that old tool does not have that capability..

all you can do is use the preset tunes that are on it..

and you can't see the tunes anyway, you'd need diablosport CMR tuning software to be able to open the tune files... which is only sold to dealers/tuning shops...

and no it can not be sent in and upgraded to 9rxx version.. that is long gone..

only thing you can do is to trade it in to diablosport and they will give you a $100 discount on buying a new inTune i2 or Trinity from them.

Interesting, so even though the tool had an RS232 port on it, and has an option in the menu for "PC Connection", it cannot communicate with a PC? That just seems a bit strange to me. Surely at one point it was able to, albeit probably just with an old software program...

Anyways, if you're saying that there is nothing I can do but trade it in to get a new model, then I'll probably just mess around with what I've got and decide later if I want to do the upgrade.

it can communicate with the old pc interface software for uploading custom tunes, but cant be updated. Exporting those files wont really get you anything to see as you need our cmr software to open the files.
