Failed to Read PCM

Post by bchap05 »

Hi I've talked to tech support on the phone which didn't help so trying one last time for any other ideas before I sell it and go with another tuner.

2006 Silverado, 5.3. I have pulled the amp fuse, HID fuse, trailer harness, stereo harness, wiper fuse. I have updated the software.

When I go to load a tune it does the key off, key on, then gives me "Failed to read PCM Original Backup, Error Code=0x00000324. I've spent 5 hours pulling fuses and retrying. Nothing works.

Truck could have been tuned by a previous owner? But I don't think so as it won't go above 100 mph

That is what the phone tech suggested. I thought I could use my roomates but he's under warranty and doesn't want me to. I'm 98% sure the tuner works fine. Trying to find a co worker that will let me go out in the parking lot and tune them real quick. But having trouble finding a compatible vehicle

Pulled the Info fuse, both wiper fuses, radio fuse, along with all the others and it finally did a back up and loaded 87 octane tune
