2016 Ram Tuning

I just traded in my 2012 Laramie Longhorn for a 16 Ram Sport.
Are there any plans to release regular Trinity Tuning or will it be a PCM swap from now on?

So instead of working to crack the code and allowing people to use the tuners that they have already purchased, they are taking advantage of another moneymaker instead. I guess it doesn't make sense to allow people to upgrade vehicles to a newer model and not have to purchase something from DS

it's the same way with all other handheld brands (like sct for example) / tuning software suites (like hptuners for example) - if they even support them at all (superchips does not, hypertech does not, efilive does not, etc) - it's the only way to do it.. so no, this is not a DS marketing/sales "ploy".. you'd have to buy a modified/unlocked pcm from any one of them before you'd be able to tune it with any one of their products as well...

have a good day...

No point in comparing to other brands since they ultimately have the same goal, that is it to make money. I know they spend hours, days, months even trying to crack the software. So why would they bother wasting time when they can market it as "We have created a solution to tune 2015-2016 Chrysler cars & trucks, but it’s a little different than using a typical tuner" Should be "We decided that we could make more money and get the tune out faster if we just sell you guys a new PCM"

I get it, we all need to make money. I'm sure that I'm not the only one that doesn't like the idea of having to swap a PCM on my brand new truck

We actually make less money, just in an effort to sell tuners to this 15+ market.
Look at the pricing for the PCM/tuner combos, the tuner price is discounted pretty good if you subtract the $599 cost of the PCMs. We make almost nothing on the PCMs, they are just a means to be able to sell tuners. Every one of these pcms has to be opened up and modified by hand, then reprogrammed, and then programmed for the vehicle it was ordered for, its incredibly labor intensive and I assure you, we are not getting rich from this program. It was this, or no tuners for 15-16, and nobody wants that.

To Lews point, we are the only ones that even offer new PCMs. Anyone else you have to send yours in or buy a spare. If you wish to source one yourself and can get it for less than $499, you can send it in to be modified for $200 and save a few bucks, but I have never seen them that cheap unless second hand.

Thanks

I just found a PCM for a good price from a 15 Ram, can I use that for my 16 Ram??
You say that I can send in my PCM to be modified for $200, that's interesting. If that is the case, what's stopping the Trinity from being able to modify it? Why is there no way to update the programming in that thing to flash the computer?

Are you guys physically changing them in order to gain access?

Yes, physical change, if it could be done through OBD, someone would make it available, but you'll notice even amongst our competitors you have to have the pcm modified physically.

Thanks

So I picked up a PCM from a 15 Ram. Can you guys unlock it and flash it with my current Vin? If so how do I go about sending it in?

I tried to send the info through "PCM mail-in" but I keep getting "There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later."
