Intune locking up yet again - 07 Silverado LY5

Trying to remove the tune from my truck and replace the factory tune (or any tune for that matter) results in the intune locking up. It happens right after the do not turn off your vehicle screen with the ignition graphic and the white status wheel shows up. i cant read codes, tune, but it will read data.

its updated and that did not cure anything. matter of fact its plugged into my PC right now as a "ok, one more time - hope this works" effort.

any help would be appreciated
