Cannot load performance tune with error message: Backup does not match vehicle. I was trying to reload C&L performance 91 tune today and got the above error message. ( I was running on the 93 tune and experiencing some issues that seemed to be related to knock sensor kicking in) I tried to load the 93 tune also with the same error message. I have an 05 Mustang GT. Can you advise if I should try and reload the original back up (stock tune) or what the issue may be? Thanks

Sorry, I have CL7140 and not 7145, my bad. In addition, to clarify, I have the 93 octane tune installed right now, tried to reload the 91 octane tune and got error message regarding backup not matching vehicle. I then tried to reload the 93 octane tune with same resulting error message. Your thoughts would be most appreciated

Did you update the Predator after installing the tune?

If you go to OPTIONS > Show Last Tune Written, what does it say?

No, I updated before installing the 93 tune. When I check last written tune, it says 93 Oct Street Kit, which is the tune that I loaded. Your thoughts on what is the next step would be appreciated.

I am guessing that I will need to visit dealer for reflash of basic tune and start again, yes?

Yes what you need to do since the tool has somehow locked itself out is get to a dealer and get a reflash. Make sure to retain a copy of the receipt of this flash and fax it to us at 561-908-0048. Call us about 15min after you fax it with the predator powered up and we will get you on your way.
