87 Tune details?

Post by Brad_1983 »

I run the 87 tune on my 2015 Silverado 5.3 and was wondering what the details are on it. For example, I've heard there is throttle boost build into the 93 tune... is it built into the 87 tune? Do I get any more or less power running the 87 tune vs stock? For all the features the tuner has, is sure is hard to find information on any of this.

Somewhat related is the difference between the shift programs... I run the hard shift program and up the shift pressure. However, is the hard shift the same as if I ran the firm shift and up'd the shift pressure? Is the firm shift the same as stock with higher shift pressure? What are the details to the different programs? Is there a place somewhere online that describes this?

yes throttle boost is in both tunes.. the only difference is the timing/spark advance..

the 87 octane tune is made for 87/89 octane gas and uses stock timing settings.

the diablo tune is made for 91/93 octane gas and has higher timing settings meant for the higher octane.

all other settings done in the tunes are the same between both tunes.

firm shift has a little higher shift pressure than stock, for a firmer shift..

hard shift has higher shift pressure settings than firm shift, for a harder shift than the firm shift and stock.
