Injector Slope Question

Post by yetirunner »

So I am very new to tuning. Two days ago, I installed the 93 octane canned tune onto my 2013 Sierra and took it for a datalogging run. I put my results from the datalog into DSLogRedux and it told me to turn my injector slope -2%. I did that, then went to datalog again and put the results into DSLogRedux and it said not to adjust my injector slope. So this evening, I got a little bored so I decided to go drive around again and datalog but this time when I put the results into the app, it told me to turn my injector slope +3%.

I did my first datalogging session in Longview, TX. The weather was high of 50*F and low of 41*F, 63% humidity, and 30.11"HG barometric pressure. I went tonight in Midlothian, TX. The weather was a high of 66*F and a low of 55*F, 83% humidity, and 29.77"HG barometric pressure.

My question is, does weather effect the injector slope and if so, how much? Also, does the injector slope actually effect power much at all?

Thanks in advance!

stop.. you'll be chasing your tail man.. do a log when it's about 80*F out and adjust it based on that log, then leave it alone.. fuel trims always change, they're supposed to, they are used by the ECM to keep the stoich AFR at 14.7 during normal part-throttle driving..

yes weather affects fuel trims.. colder temps will make the fuel trims more positive.. hotter temps will make them more negative.. normal operation.. they will not always stay the same..

and you can't install a tune and then log right away again anyway.. Every time you install a tune, all of the learned items like idle, airflow, fueling/fuel trims, emissions readiness tests, etc. all get erased/reset... It takes days/150+ miles to be put on for everything to be relearned by the ECM/TCM and settle back in again before you'd be able to do a data log.

do a search of the forums, I believe it's attached in a post somewhere on here.. that's the only place to get it, as it's not available any more from the original dslogredux site, that site is gone...

but it is attached in a post somewhere in the forums here.. so do a search for it and you should be able to find it.. was a post made by me a while ago...

Thanks for the reply! I've had a tune on my truck for a while now and it's just starting to get in the 80's here so I'll datalog it soon and stick with what the program tells me to do. :D
