Help! Can't install the 9r01 program!

Post by ranger_dog »

Help Please. I just bought another cable to allow me to upload the new 9r01 program to the Predator. I got it loaded but when I tried to load it into the truck, the Predator says that its not licensed to my truck! What gives? I am the only one who has owned it. I used it only on my truck and never anyone elses. The last time I used it I restored the original backup to take it into the dealer for work. I believe they reflashed the computer with their most current stuff. Could that be the problem? What can I do? I was really looking forward to seeing if the idle problem from the past was fixed with this update and using the tire size feature to correct my speedo. Please help.

Could you check 2 things for us?
What is the exact message you are getting including the # in parenthesis?
Also if you go to options>>show last tune written, what does it say?
Please let me know.

Let me guess...did you have idle up or tire size changed in the tune?
If so, no prob, just give us a call with the tool powered up in the truck.

Hey guys, I called in and they reset the programmer and it worked. Wasn't a big deal. Mikel, I didn't have the idle up or tire size changed. Those features weren't available on the original programs the tuner had in them. I think it must have been related to the reflash the dealer did the last time I had it in. The programmer must not have recognized it as the same truck? Anyway just wanted to update this post. About the new tunes, the idle is much better. Still a little rough compared to stock but not very noticeable. It seems to me that the performance tune on this version seems to have a little less power than before but I have no quantitative way to determine that, just the feel. Also, I did a short (181 mile) mileage check to see what I was getting. I used 9.5 gallons so I got 19 MPG. This was driving nicer than an old lady! Matter of fact, one passed me as I was getting on the interstate and flipped me the bird! I expected to notice even more power and mileage than before as I have added an intake and exhaust since then. I haven't tried any of the other features but I will update everyone with the results when I do. Thanks for the help.

I would not expect to feel more power because of exhaust and intake. I certainly didn't, I think they help when its working harder pulling at 1800-2000rpm. And of course if you start moding and making some real huge kind of power. Wish I could get that kinda milage outa mine. The best old lady driving I have done was 19.75mpg imp. the next best that trip was 18.5

RRAM, how's the boost fooler treat you? I was considering getting one since they are relatively cheap? Do you notice reduced EGT's and more power if needed? Confused about your mileage? Is your 19.75mpg imp. is different than my 19 MPG in a worse way? Guess I have been away from school to long to know what the difference is. Anyway let me know about the boost fooler.

1 imperial gallon is equall to about 1.201 US gallon.

1 US gallon is equall to about 0.832 imperial gallon.

I use the Quadzilla boost fooler and the I like the way it improves the launch with my G56. To me well worth the money spent. Make sure you put a boost gage in if you do.........
