Imposible to Upgrade my U7145

HELLO...!!
I bought a new GT 2008..."coz"..my Gt2007 is a wreck post car accident....However I could restore stock tune...and take my predador for my new 2008.....I found on website that upgrade is necesary, but.... when I conect my laptop with it....was imposible ...I downloaded last one DSDown.....as well as last upgrade 8r08.crom.....I turned off antivirus...firewall...adjusted manually Com ports....as well as Baudspeed....I tried hyperterminal...shakewell..but nothing....its like it does not exist for PC....I also check port...and is working ok.......so do you have any idea...about whats going on?....

PC: Laptop HP pavilion dv 2000, XP windows, Intel cetrino duo
cable: USB - RS-232
Predador U7145

If the Hyperterminal test fails then your USB cable is not set up correctly. Did you install the cable drivers first, before plugging in the cable? Does the cable show up as a COM port in your System Device Manager? What is the manufacturer and model number on the cable? What version of Windows are you using?

Hi Johnc, and thanks for your concern about my problem... I have installed and uninstalled the drivers about 6 times...always before plugged....even I'm surfing on net looking for upgrade the drivers....at system Device Manager..I have seen USB with com port...even..I have changed from 1 to 3...and 4...without problem... the cable is some generic cable from alcor micro..
My windows is XP home edition

The Predator is powering up ok when you are doing the tests?

Unless the Predator was physically damaged somehow the problem has to be the cable. Does Alcor Micro have a technical support option?

Yes Predator is powerin up OK....and shows main menu...surf through the menu alternative.....not physically damaged......Alcor Micro doesnt have Customer Service..( I've even read on net).....Today I will buy a new USB-Serial Cable....I 'll let you know...

I bougth a new USB-Serial Cable....and...now...predator is upgraded.....the problem was the cable... so..as an answer to this post....be sure usb-serial cable is working corectly....cause is not....will be imposible to upgrade your predator....You can find some cheaper USB-serial cables....but probably...driver are not compatible with Windows(any version).....or driver is too old.....
