87 tune included parameters...

Sorry if this has been asked before...but does the 87 tune have TCM changes in it itself?

I'm just trying to make heads or tails of all this. Some say it doesn't make changes to fueling or timing, some say it does. Some say it makes changes to shift pressure, some say it doesn't. If it does, does adding the form or hard shift times compound the pressure increase? My question is, if it doesn't change fuel or timing, what does it change? If it does change shift points and pressure but not fueling what's the point of the 87 tune? Do I HAVE to run the 91/93 octane tune for fueling and timing changes? It seems like there are no simple direct answers...

87 tune does not change timing.. uses stock timing for 87/89 octane gas..

fueling is adjusted for WOT only..

91/93 tune does change timing, it's set higher for the higher octane.. and WOT fueling is also adjusted..

if you have a 2000-2006 truck, then yes, shift pressure and shift quickness are adjusted as well in either tune...

if you have a 2007+ truck, then you would install the TCM Firm Shift or Hard Shift tune for the tranny, and shift pressure and shift quickness are adjusted in the tunes.

Thank you for the response. I'm just trying to dial this thing in. Seems like I can't get the shifting just right. It's either way too hard or feels like stock. I've taken 2% out of the 1-2 shift and 4% out of the 2-3 shift at WOT and it seems to be doing better. That 2-3 shift is killer. Lol was afraid I was going to break something.

One more thing I can't seem to remedy, WOT from a standing start with traction control and torque management off. It spins the tires, obviously, but at the 1-2 shift it just falls on its face. Like it pulls all the power out of it at the shift for a second then pours it back on after the shift. Is there a fix for this? It does it stock and with the tune installed. What ever happened to being able to spin and go through the gears?

Did you ever find a fix for that? That is the exact same thing I see. It falls on its face then kicks in. The shifting in the Diablo Tune seems slow and sluggish compared to the Stock E85 tune. I wish there was a guide explaining what each option did and what adjustments do to real world feel.

I should clarify, I'm running 87 tune now and after two days it has come alive and is shifting and running pretty good. The nose dive happens when I use the Diablo Tune. I wonder if its because I already have E85 in the tank and after the tune it is looking for 91 or higher regular fuel?
