i2 won't update - please help !!

trying to update my i2 on my Mac. I get two scenarios that play out..... When i used my i2 for my 2013 Chevy Silverado i had no issue, now its just been a paper weight as i can not update it to use in my 2017 Chevy Silverado.

#1. when i run the ignition application and plug my i2, the application recognizes the handheld and downloads the updates but my i2 never updates. The ignition application says "up to date" but my handheld never updated.

#2 when i plug my i2 in my computer without opening the ignition application, my handheld starts updating. Then once completed it says needs to reboot to complete. I hit OK and the handheld stays on "Please Wait" without ever rebooting. If i disconnect the handheld and plug it back it, it starts the process of downloading updates and asking to reboot, its a endless cycle.

open the i2 drive and delete the file called group_update then it should be fine.

Well removing the group update stopped the auto update...... but as soon as i connect to the Ignition updater it reinstalls the group update and i'm back to square one.... auto update that wont reboot and i still can't freakin update my i2.

ok, theres no need to keep updating it.
Delete the file then tune your vehicle

I also experienced a problem with the auto updates. The I2 would complete the Update but the GM file was not the latest file per the downloads page on the Diablo website. I deleted the group update file as previously suggested and the I2 updated again but with the same results. To solve the problem I downloaded the latest GM file and copied it to the I2 directory. The I2 is now updated with all the latest files and I was able to tune my car with the latest files.
