160 Degree theromostat change is there a Predator change?

Post by arizdare »

[/sizeI changed my theromstat to a 160 degree. I have the 2006 Chevy SSR. is there something about the fans I have to change or is it best just to leave it.
does changing the thermostat affect the tune all that much?
Please let me know if I have to make any changes. I bought this unit from you about October 2007.
thank you,

You should lower the fan temp settings for the new t-stat.

Thanks

I went in and made the change but the lowest the fan temperature showed on the unit was I believe 191 or 195 degrees.
when I first start the engine for the day after sitting all night after running for about 30 to 45 seconds, the cooling fan kicks on and I dont know if it stays on or goes off. I thought that depended on the engine temperature. thats why it seems wrong that the fan would turn on right after you 30 seconds after it starts a cold car?
is that normal or is there a differenht setting I should be using. it does no go lower than 190 some.
thank you,
Mark
