2014 Ram 5.7 Calibration Update locks up

I'm having an issue getting the Calibration Update to work on my Trinity tuner...each time I attempt to push the update, the tool locks up and I get a "USB device has malfunctioned" error. I've tried multiple attempts on two separate computers, sometimes the Cal Update button isn't even available. I've deleted and reloaded DSDL and the USB drivers twice and could find nothing else on any of the Diablo Forums. Any ideas? Is it possible the tool is bad?

Id try a different cable first.

Have tried multiple cables, multiple ports on multiple computers...if the Calibration Update even comes up at all, it locks up while loading to the tool. Most times the Cal Update isnt even coming up as an option.....

the fact that the option doesnt appear is generally due to the cable not letting the info pass properly. Its possible its the tool, just not something I have seen before.
