Ok, so I just got my 4l60e rebuilt for, better sit down for this one, $1,710. The guy rebuilt the thing, and replaced all the weakest parts (that usually cause this particular transmission to fail), with higher strength parts. Sun gear shell(s), bands, couple other things as well. He also included a very mild shift kit to keep the clutches from wearing quicker. My question is, when programming with the predator to make your transmission shift quicker (this is done by raising the transsion mission fluid speed in the transmission if i'm not mistaken), will this damage anything? Would it be recommended to do a valve body upgrade? I've heard of several other guys in here turning up their line pressure a bit and then throwing codes, or blowing solenoids or what not. After paying as much as I did, I'm sure every one of you guys understand my hesitation is making the tranny shift faster, lol. I just want to speed up the shift a little, so it doesnt feel like i'm loosing 3-5 mph between each shift, haha. I may just end up calling that vince dude from finish line transmissions again, but i hate to bother him with such elementary questions. So let me know what you guys think. I know mike and lew admit to not knowing a whole lot about transmissions, but you other guys out there, i'd appreciate your inputs. Thanks.

Don't play with fluid pressures or your going to be re-building again. Get the shift kit and do it right.

BTW, $1700 for the good parts in a rebuild was a pretty good deal...

HUH?
Shift pressure is an auto trannies best friend.
Stock, slow shifts = heat being built in the tranny.
Heat is the NUMBER 1 enemy of an automatic transmission, period.
Increasing line pressure to make shifts firmer (read: not slipping into gear) causes much less heat to be built in the tranny, thus extending tranny life.

Whats the average that the pressure should be increased to and and what does the shift time change or adjust and whats an average setting.

Shift time is already set to the max quickness in the tunes, pressure may be increased by the full amount.

Thats no adjustment on shift time and up to additional 25% increase pressure on the performance tune?

Increasing it does nothing, you can slow it down if you wanted to...
