Im trying to use the scan tool option, says failure occurred and then failure reported. I try to put in my custom tune and the handheld freezes when I press advance tune... all updates have been done, very upsetting to spend so much on a device that has so many issues.

Anything aftermarket installed in the vehicle? i.e did not come from the factory?

You need to make sure anything aftermarket is disconnected/pull the fuse for - anything like aftermarket stereo, subs, amps, nav, alarm, remote start, seat heaters, trailer brake/light setup, etc.. anything like that, their wiring harnesses need to be disconnected/pull the fuses for it before you try to tune anything...

also make sure everything is turned off inside the truck.. lights, radio, heat/fan/blower, do not operate power windows, put your parking brake on, etc...

It worked fine last week, now it wont work. I've done everything you suggested.

the tool is married, do you have a tune loaded to the truck?

Didnt see confirmation, is there an aftermarket stereo in the vehicle?

Yes the Diablo tube is loaded. I want to put my custom tune back in and also read my CEL. Stock stereo.

please update it with ignition and try again and let me know if it works after the update.
